I enjoy watching films. A lot of films.
As a mediocre high school student in the middle of the Canadian prairies (where the only thing within walking distance is a post office), I often find myself looking forward to the the end of the day when I can turn off the lights and watch a film or two. Analyzing them for days afterwards. Seeing what I liked and didn’t like about them while comparing them to other films. Noticing which director did what movies and picking up on the subtle styles of each filmmaker. Getting lost in each new film and searching for the answer to the question, “What makes a good film great?”.
Although I know the answer to that question has yet to be fully answered, the thrill of watching films has never let me down.
